  • DoRaEMon~~

My very favourite cat with the ever so wondrous pouch. I can bet that there are more Malaysians out there who knows doraemon's theme song than theme songs of the likes of ninja turtles, power rangers, mcguyver, or even barney the purple gay. Go Japan!.

Recently I've just discovered something reaaally interesing. I was at an indonesian friend's house chilling about with a few of other malaysians, when we started talking about old cartoons (see how cartoons can be a good social tool?). And we found out that our version of the dubbed doraemon in bahasa malaysia uses different terminology than their dubbed version of doraemon in bahasa indonesia!!

You remember that red pinkish door that leads you to wherever you want? like how nobita can wind up in shizuka's bathtub? (and EVERY single time she just HAPPENS to be bathing?) well yeah. That door, we call it Pintu Suka Hati. And my indonesian fellas started bursting out laughing mcm setan kena geletek when they heard that.

As ive understand, to them the word suka hati is pretty much used like....whatever(!) kinda thing you know..probably the same as how we use it. But for us, we started out laughing like ducks when we heard their version! They call it Pintu Ke Mana Aja!!!!! I'm gonna be abit bias and say that this is even more hillarious!! Say it with the usual indonesian accent and you've got me rolling on the carpet!! Wuahahahhhaahah!!!
